Did you ever notice how a girlfriend can sense when something is off? And no matter if it is business or personal, a few words of encouragement and a hug can make you feel better.


Chanin Coyle founded USA Intern, LLC after she realized the value that interns can add to an organization.  While working as a Senior Media Coordinator for a corporate buyer of pharmaceutical and healthcare-related media, Chanin was assigned to help her department find assistants for the busy media planning season. Recognizing the opportunity for college students to gain real-world work experience, Chanin developed and implemented a semester-long Internship Program. Eventually, the program expanded to meet the needs of other departments throughout the company.


Kim Dieterle is principal of four special education schools located inside residential treatment facilities. Under her leadership, Brookfield Schools provides innovative, practical, and effective educational services within these facilities for a diverse group of students who have special emotional needs.

Between her professional life and her volunteer commitments, Deborah A. Hays keeps very busy.


After watching her best friend die of breast cancer in November of 2004, Michelle Vaughn created Pretty in Pink, a program devoted to raising awareness of the disease.

Susan Curry is a pre-eminent business woman in Camden County.  Starting in college, Susan concentrated in public relations, business management and marketing. While working with her family’s business, Taylor Freezer Equipment Company in Pennsauken, Susan learned the value of customer care and service excellence.

After 12 years of working in corporate America, Glori Gayster was ready to go it alone. The first project for her fledgling company was itself: GDG Consulting, Inc. a full-service marketing, communications, and design firm.


Grief Therapist and Facilitator Toni Griffith has devoted her life to helping children handle grief. She is founder and CEO of Continuing Support Services, Inc., a nonprofit organization that began in 1995 to help grieving children deal with their losses.

In 1992, Puerto Rican artist, Soraida Martinez created Verdadism, a form of hard-edged painting abstraction that consists of a visual component and written commentary.
Lately I’ve really come to hate  my mirror. It doesn’t even matter what angle I use, I still see an image that is less than flattering to my ego. This hits me at my very core.

Gloria Bonilla-Santiago is a Board of Governors Distinguished Service Professor at the Department of Public Policy and Administration and Director of the Center for Strategic Urban Community Leader-ship at Rutgers University.


Camden County Surrogate Patricia Egan Jones was sworn into office in 2001 after serving as a Camden County Freeholder. The County Surrogate is an elected constitutional officer who serves as the Judge of the Surrogate’s Court. The word “Surrogate” means “one who speaks for another.”

Polly Youngstein was diagnosed with a chronic autoimmune disease called Sjögren’s (Show-grins) Syndrome in 2001. Sjögren’s is a disease that attacks the moisture producing glands throughout the body. As many as 4,000,000 Americans live with this serious disease which represents a major women’s health problem (nine out of ten sufferers are female).

Pastor Vivan Tan is Director of KidsAlley, the main program of One Accord Inc., a non-profit faith-based organization reaching out to the inner-city children and their families of Camden, NJ and Philadelphia.
Last month, on a sloppy, muddy course, I watched an unknown horse, an unknown trainer, and a savvy jockey win the biggest contest in the horse racing industry — the Kentucky Derby. Mine That Bird (the horse) was the underdog going at 50-1 odds. Do you sometimes feel that you are operating at similar odds? That the course is muddy and you can't get a solid grip? That your vision is so blurred that the finish line is no longer in view?

Organized in the spring of 2007, the River Sisters is a women’s dragon boat team for cancer survivors and caregivers. The team participates in two annual events: the Paddle for Pink Festival in Mercerville, NJ and the Philadelphia International Dragon Boat Festival.

Betty Rice served as the first Executive Director of Helping Other People Evolve (H.O.P.E.) a support group that assists recently widowed men and women of all ages in redefining themselves as they go through the various stages of grief. The non-denominational organization has been in existence since 1979 and currently operates 11 chapters in six counties throughout Southern New Jersey.

Cathi Rendfrey is the Director of the Women’s Opportunity Center (WOC) located at the YMCA of Burlington County. The Center made its home at the YMCA in 1991 and serves women in Burlington and Camden Counties.



Krisden McCrink is a senior partner with the law firm of McCrink, Kehler & McCrink, located in West Berlin. She currently serves as Municipal Judge for the Township of Waterford and Conflicts Solicitor for Delran Township’s Planning and Zoning Boards. Prior to her judgeship, she was the appointed prosecutor, public defender and/or land use solicitor in six townships in Camden and Burlington counties. In addition, Krisden teaches at the South Jersey Professional School of Business.
