Become More Financially Fit

Financial planning can be a challenge for anyone.  People may take on mortgages they can’t afford, incur too much high-interest-rate credit card debt, invest too aggressively in the stock market, or fail
to establish a strong financial foundation. Now more than ever, consumers need more and better financial education.

So start the New Year by becoming more financially fit!  The New Jersey Society of CPAs provides programs and resources to educate New Jersey residents about sound personal financial management.

For example, the Society has just released its 2010 Financial Fitness Calendar. This FREE picturesque wall calendar serves as an easy-to-follow financial literacy resource guide. The calendar is loaded with year-round financial advice on topics such as retirement planning, savings and investment strategy.

In addition, since women face a particularly unique set of financial planning obstacles, the hands-on workshop, “Do It Herself: A Journey to Financial Freedom,” will be held on Saturday, January 23, at Seton Hall University in South Orange, N.J.  Workshop sessions include Money Management, Investment Tips, Finances of Divorce, Retirement Planning, Debt and Credit Card Management, plus more. Mary Pilon, part of The Wall Street Journal’s award-winning Money and Investing team, will be the keynote speaker. Great food, networking, giveaways, and prize drawings are part of the experience, too!

Improve your financial health in 2010.  Visit www.MoneyMattersNJ.com for further information about these and other offerings provided throughout the year by the New Jersey Society of CPAs.
