Outstanding Woman – Deborah A. Hays, Esquire |

Between her professional life and her volunteer commitments, Deborah A. Hays keeps very busy.
At Archer & Greiner, P.C., Debbie concentrates her practice in the area of corporate law. During meetings on complex transactions, she is often the only female in the room. “It doesn’t bother me, but it’s hard not to notice.”
For more than 20 years, Debbie has served as a troop leader, and also as a Service Unit Manager for the Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ. In her role as Service Unit Manager she oversees 30 Girl Scout troops in the Voorhees area, involving 340 girls and 100+ adult volunteers. “The girls I started with are out of college now and we still stay in touch,” says Debbie. “We’re developing the next generation of community and business leaders by stressing leadership skills, charitable endeavors, integrity, and character.”
A founding member of the Entrepreneurs Forum of Southern New Jersey, a nonprofit professional development organization designed to foster entrepreneurial innovation and business growth in South Jersey, Debbie belongs to the Forum’s Board of Directors and chairs the Programming Committee.
In addition, Debbie is involved with raising awareness of heart disease as the leading killer of both men and women. She has served for more than 12 years on the American Heart Association’s regional chapter Board of Directors. Debbie's mother suffers from heart disease, which was made worse by a delayed diagnosis years ago when even doctors considered it a “man’s disease.”
Debbie also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of The Wetlands Institute which promotes the conservation and preservation of coastal ecosystems by promoting research and providing educational experiences for families, school groups, and other members of the public. She has served as chairperson of the Institute’s annual gala for many years, raising critical funds to support the mission, research and educational programs of the Wetlands Institute.
