Wende Nachman is a devoted advocate for human rights. As a student at Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, Ms. Nachman worked on numerous campaigns including homelessness, education for women in Afghanistan, support for battered women, anti-sweat shop labor, global justice, and environmental awareness. She also worked for the Public Policy Department of the American Association of University Women in Washington D.C. Wende worked as a Community Organizer for NJCA, the state’s largest independent citizen watchdog coalition, representing over 60,000 family members and 100 affiliated labor, tenant, religious, senior and civic organizations. She was responsible for their affordable energy campaign. She became the Director of the NJCA Oil Group and continues to lobby for affordable energy on a state and federal level.
Wanting to become more involved in women’s rights and the state of women in her community, Wende joined the Camden County Commission for Women and the Camden County Crisis Intervention Team in 2005. As a Commissioner for the Camden County Commission for Women, she has helped organize and support the Commission’s endeavors such as their Annual Career Fair and scholarship award ceremony.
